While I get products unexpectedly from time to time from suppliers, giveaway wins, and the usual chaos of running this blog, Since day one I have had a little note on my site saying that I am always open to gifts and donations to help keep the reviews flowing. In all my years of doing this, no one ever took me up on that offer... Until now.

So today, we are diving into something special that landed on my doorstep: the Orc Style Thwak the Ridgeback. Let’s see what this beast has going on.

a little about the company

Orc Style is one of those shops that feels less like a business and more like someone punching a hole through the universe and yelling I deserve space and joy while dragging a pile of sparkly orcs behind them. The brand was born in 2019 during a point in the creator’s life that was anything but glamorous. On the outside, things looked fine; on the inside, it was a full dumpster fire of depression, burnout, and a world that kept insisting they were too queer, too loud, too weird, and somehow still not enough. Orc Style became the lifeline. A small safe corner where authenticity could breathe without being punished for it.

The creative mind behind it grew up in the 80s surrounded by action figures, comics, and sci-fi. For a queer and unknowingly AuADHD kid, those stories about bold heroes fighting for what is right felt like survival tools. That energy eventually evolved into the Sparkle Orc Universe, a full setting complete with characters, lore, and a tabletop style system (Powered By Sparkles). Yes, it is exactly as chaotic and charming as it sounds.

The deeper mission behind Orc Style goes far beyond sculpting silicone. Their work is a critique of how queer and neurodivergent identities get packaged, sanitized, and sold back to us by systems that would rather profit off us than support us. Each creation is part art, part rebellion, and part love letter to everyone who has ever been told they are too much. It is a universe shaped by queer radical self-love and a refusal to disappear quietly.

Over the years, collaborators and friends of the company have helped expand the Spiral, the world where all this lore lives. It is a place filled with queer heroes learning how to survive in a society that keeps sliding toward fear and fascism. The point is not to mourn how we lose, but to remind us how we win. And somehow, all of that leads beautifully into a lineup of silicone creatures with more personality than some people I have dated.

Delivery

The Thwak showed up in a plain brown box, ensuring discretion.

Once I opened it up, everything was tucked neatly into green packing paper. Right on top was the Thwak itself, wrapped in more of that same paper and sealed in plastic like a very well-behaved beast waiting for release. Underneath, I found a thank-you printout and the shipping invoice, which I kept off camera, because this naughty fox isn't ready for a femboy army.

Tucked into the bottom was a little green resealable bag holding two Orc Style stickers, a business card, and a tiny Ruckgar the Berzerker mini. It felt like opening a snack pack of chaos and collectibles, and honestly, I am never mad about bonus loot.

Editor’s Note: No matter where you’re shopping from, always give your toy a proper clean before putting it to use. You never know what release agents or manufacturing residue might be lingering, and a quick wash means peace of mind and safer play. Stay naughty, but stay safe!

Measurements

Orc Style offers Thwak in four sizes: XS, Small, Regular, and Large. There is also

an XL lurking on the product page, but it does not show up in the selection menu,

so it basically feels like a secret boss you have to unlock. For this review I am

working with the Small, mostly because that is the one my viewers insisted I start

with. Thanks for the vote of confidence, everyone.

The Small measures about six inches in total, with roughly four and a

half inches of that being insertable. The tip begins modestly with

an uncut circumference of two and a half inches, then works its way

up to a thicker five and a quarter inches at the widest part. The sculpt

ends in a flat, testicle-shaped base that keeps everything nice and

                        steady.

The shaft is where things get fun. It is lined with four spined ridges, three along the top and one underneath, creating a deep rippling texture. On each side, there is a single thick vein adding even more character. The entire shape leans more towards square than round, boldly ignoring societal norms and proving that yes, sometimes a square peg absolutely can go in a round hole.

Materials And Maintenance

Orc Style uses platinum-cured silicone across their entire lineup. Their colors come from cosmetic-grade mica and silicone pigments, and they make a point of sourcing their mica ethically.

Since these toys are solid silicone, they are completely waterproof. That means you can take them from the bedroom to the bathtub to the shower to wherever else you think would make for a most excellent adventure. (props if you know the reference). Platinum silicone also handles temperature play without batting an eye. It can go from deep freeze at around -73° Celsius to a toasty 200°. If you want to boil it for a deep clean, go for it. Dishwasher? Also fine, as long as you keep him off the bottom... of the pot, not you.

Durability-wise, platinum silicone is the gold standard. Orc Style toys do not get sticky over time, they do not break down, and they do not slowly turn into questionable jelly creatures in your drawer. If you are the kind of person who collects toys like trading cards, you can stash them long-term without worrying that they will age into something tragic.

Cleaning is easy. Warm water and antibacterial soap will do the job for regular care. If you want a full disinfecting session, a quick two to three-minute boil works perfectly.  Always dry it afterward, and remember to stick with water-based lubricants, since silicone lubes and silicone toys tend to bond in ways you do not want.

Orc Style offers several firmness levels: Firm 10 (Dragon Skin 10), Medium 00-50 (Ecoflex 50), Soft 00-30 (Ecoflex 30), and an Ultra Soft 00-20 that is not listed in the "Ingredients list" but seems like a fair assumption that it is Ecoflex 20. Like any good Orc Warrior, My Thwak is poured in Firm Dragon Skin, which is the firmness I will be focusing on.

The firm silicone is smooth with a little flex. It can bend in half with some effort, but it still has backbone. It’s firm enough to break its way past any barrier, while still offering enough give to settle into the body comfortably. (Please no forcing, always prep and use lube)

color options

colors.png

Orc Style has seventeen standard color options along with three custom choices, covering everything from simple solids to UV-reactive and glow finishes. If you want something subtle, they have it. If you want something that looks like it crawled out of a rave at midnight, they have that too.

They also let you mix things up with different pour styles. You can pick solid, marble and ribbon, or a fade. Up to two colors are included, but if you want to get fancy with custom shades, it is an extra two dollars CAD. If you want to go full chaos gremlin and add even more colors, each additional shade is five dollars CAD, for a maximum of five choices.

My Thwak came in a custom pour called Electric Wave. It is a bright swirl of blue, yellow, and pink that hits you with pure 90s energy.

Testing and Performance

product design 5/5

The small Orc Style Thwak the Ridgeback has a smooth, almost satiny finish that feels great in the hand and even better in use. The silicone itself has a steady firmness with just enough flex to move with the body without losing any of its structural personality. Thwak may be small, but he still carries that proud orc sturdiness, like he is flexing just a little to show off.

One of the more unique things about this sculpt is the overall shape. Instead of being fully round, it has a slightly squared structure that gives the whole toy a more unusual and engaging profile. The bumps and ridges are placed in a way that keeps the body from slipping into a single repetitive sensation. They work together to create a rippling, rolling experience that stays playful throughout use.

If I could make one change, I would love to see a version with a suction cup base. This sculpt feels like it was born to shine in a harness situation, and it would benefit greatly from the added stability. For the larger sizes, a vac-u-lock compatible option would be incredible. Adding vibration to this particular shape would absolutely elevate the already fun textures.

easy to use 5/5

Entry with Thwak is straightforward thanks to the narrow tip. It lines up easily, settles in without fuss, and lets you warm up at your own pace. The gradual taper makes it simple to work up to the maximum girth without feeling rushed or forced. Even with the firmer silicone, Thwak behaved like a polite little orc scout knocking on the door before charging in.

The silicone flexes just enough to adjust with position changes, which keeps everything comfortable and controlled. While the base is flat, I was pleasantly surprised that it held steady during tests. It gripped my wooden chair firmly enough to keep everything in place without wobbling or sliding out of alignment.

Overall, the learning curve is almost nonexistent.

sensory quality 4/5

I went into testing fully convinced that the firm silicone and bold silhouette were going to make this a challenge. I was wrong. The thin tip made the first moments incredibly smooth, and the firmness helped the toy stay perfectly on course without drifting to one side. Thwak honestly handled like an orc field leader who knows exactly what his job is and does not need supervision to get it done.

Once seated, the textures come alive in a way I did not expect. The ridges and bumps trace along the walls with a surprisingly gentle glide. There is no harshness or poking, just consistent stimulation that ramps up naturally with depth and speed. Each bump gives a sharp little spark of sensation, but never crosses the line into pain. It feels more like an orc partner who knows exactly how to keep things spicy without tipping over into roughness, giving just enough bite to stay thrilling without ever losing control.

The stretch is comfortable, the glide stays consistent, and the sensations shift enough with movement to avoid any sense of monotony. It is playful, a little mischievous, and definitely designed to keep the brain and body engaged.

easy to clean 5/5

Cleaning Thwak is blissfully simple thanks to the pure silicone. Warm water and mild soap take care of everything with no effort. A rinse and a pat dry leave it ready for storage or a second round if you are feeling ambitious.

Most of the sculpt is smooth enough that nothing clings, though the uncut style tip has a small groove that needs a tiny bit of extra attention. It is nothing time-consuming, just a moment of making sure you get between the folds like any responsible adventurer caring for their orc gear.

pros

  • Beginner friendly

  • Smooth entry

  • Engaging textures without discomfort

Final Thoughts

smug.png

Thwak the Ridgeback ended up being one of those toys that grows on you the longer you spend with it. The firm silicone, the playful ridges, the steady glide, and that squared-off silhouette all came together to make a sculpt that feels intentional and full of personality. It is small enough to stay approachable but interesting enough to keep your attention, kind of like the orc equivalent of a flirty wink across the campfire.

As much as I enjoyed this size, I can already tell that if I revisit Thwak, I will be aiming for the regular version next time. Probably in the 00-30 firmness too, since this gremlin can absolutely handle a little more than this appetizer. The sculpt itself is fantastic and begs to be explored in a bigger form, like leveling up from rookie adventurer to a seasoned orc wrangler who actually knows how to handle the boss fight.

Thwak surprised me in all the right ways. It is fun, dependable, textured just enough to stay entertaining, and full of that rowdy orc charm that makes you want to drag it back to camp for another round. If nothing else, testing the Small made it clear that this sculpt has plenty more to offer when it grows up a bit. I am already eyeing the regular size for a future matchup, so I can really let the ridgeback show off. Consider this my warmup round with an orc who clearly has bigger ambitions, and lucky for him, so do I.

That all being said, the Orc Style Thwak the Ridgeback scored 19/20, giving it a rating of 9/10. And I highly recommend this product for beginners looking to get into deeper stretching routines and seasoned players who like shapes that shatter social norms.

I am often asked what lube I use for my testing. Honestly, with the amount of monsters, beasts, and fantasy anatomy I put through their paces, I need something that can keep up with me, and Swisok Cum Lubricant has become one of my go-to essentials. It’s thick, creamy, and gives that realistic feel that just makes everything slide into place the way it should.

It’s water-based, body safe, and the pump applicator makes using it stupidly easy, even when you’re already in the middle of wrangling something big. The texture is slick without turning watery and creamy without getting gummy, which is exactly what I need when I’m pushing my limits or breaking in a Lovecraftian horror.

It also comes in two color options. Tied energy is clear blue, cute and fun. My favorite is the realistic cum version, a thick white that adds a visual kick to playtime and just looks right with fantasy toys.
