MERMAID DILDO

Yes, we are back, but only partly. If you've been following along, you'll know this review was originally scheduled to happen back in July. Sadly, I had a death in the family, which meant reviews had to take a back seat for a few weeks. Unfortunately, while I was away from the desk, it also became clear that I needed to find a new home for my reviews. My current living situation was no longer sustainable, so I've been slowly getting everything boxed up and preparing for a move. And yes, that means a truly ridiculous number of boxes full of silicone.
That being said, I didn't want to leave my studio without finishing the current reviews on the list. So while I'm only partially back at my desk right now, we're going to get these reviews finished before everything gets packed away until we find our new home.
If you read my review of Seth, you'll already know the story behind my recent interactions with Master4Fancy. Seth was the toy I ultimately chose with my giveaway winnings back in April, but he wasn't the only toy that ended up making its way across my desk.
After I finalized my prize selection, the folks at Master4Fancy reached out and offered to send over another toy for review. Naturally, I wasn't about to turn down the opportunity to spend some extra hands-on time with one of their creations.
So now that Seth's review is out of the way, it's Mermaid's turn in the testing chair.
a little about the company
Founded in 2019, Master4Fancy holds the distinction of being China's first original fantasy toy brand. Created by a team of women and queer artists, the company grew out of a desire to make fantasy-focused toys that embraced imagination, creativity, and personal expression in a market where those ideas were often overlooked.
Master4Fancy builds entire characters around each design. Every toy comes with its own lore, artwork, and color schemes, creating the feeling that you're collecting a character rather than simply ordering another toy off a shelf. Whether it's mythical creatures, cyborg beasts, monsters, or figures inspired by folklore, storytelling sits at the heart of nearly everything they create.
That creative focus can be traced back to the company's origins. The founders first gained attention through their work in sex and gender education, where discussions about fantasy, desire, and sexual expression revealed a gap in the market. Fantasy toys were virtually nonexistent in China at the time, particularly products that catered to women, LGBTQ+ customers, and anyone whose interests extended beyond conventional designs. Instead of waiting for someone else to fill that niche, they decided to create it themselves.
Customization is another major part of the experience. Most toys are available in multiple sizes, firmness options, and color combinations, allowing buyers to tailor a design to their own preferences. Because each piece is hand-poured and individually crafted from body-safe platinum-cured silicone, no two toys are completely identical. Minor variations in color blending and finish are part of the process, giving each piece a slightly unique character of its own.
What ultimately makes Master4Fancy stand out is how much emphasis they place on imagination. Their catalog feels less like a collection of products and more like a gallery of characters, each with its own identity, artwork, and story waiting to be explored.
Delivery
The package from Master4Fancy arrived in a plain brown shipping box wrapped in black plastic.
Opening the box revealed one of my unexpected weaknesses: heart-shaped bubble wrap. I will admit that it took a surprising amount of self-control not to immediately start popping every single bubble before looking at anything else.
Almost everything was packed inside a black mesh zip-up storage bag featuring the Master4Fancy logo embroidered on the front. Tucked underneath were several pieces of artwork and informational material, including Mermaid concept cards and product care information.
Digging through the contents felt a little like opening a loot chest. The first items out of the bag were an enamel pin featuring Medusa, a sticker of Anubis, and a miniature figure of Medusa. Those were followed by another sticker, a user manual, three additional stickers, a miniature figure of Flash of Prey, a second enamel pin featuring Anubis, and yet another sticker. By this point I was starting to wonder if Master4Fancy had simply decided that there is no such thing as too many extras.
The final item inside the mesh pouch was a second storage bag. This one was considerably more luxurious, made from black velvet with the Master4Fancy logo embroidered on the front and lined with a gold satin interior. Inside were the stars of the show: Mermaid in size small and Seth in size small, both neatly tucked away and ready for a closer inspection.
As unboxing experiences go, this one felt surprisingly generous. Between the artwork, pins, stickers, miniatures, and multiple storage options, there was a lot more waiting inside the box than just the toys themselves.

Master4Fancy offers Mermaid in one size, Small.
Mermaid measures seven inches in length, or seven and
a half inches if flattened, with about six inches of that
being insertable. The tip measures about one and a half
inches in circumference, while the base measures five
and a half inches in circumference.
Visually, if I hadn't been told anything about this toy, I
would've assumed it was a dragon's tongue. The shape is
less of a cylinder and more of a triangle, with the taper
and various details giving it that unmistakable tongue-like
aesthetic.
There are two rows of six spikes running along the sides of the tip. Along the top are two veins that create a deep
central crease. Both sides feature a raised lip that snakes down the shaft before ending in nine spikes that gradually
increase in size the closer they get to the base. These spikes only cover the last inch and a half of the toy.
On the bottom, there's a prominent vein running down the center for the full length of the shaft. Finally everything ends
in a suction cup base adorned with six spiky lotus petals.
Materials And Maintenance
Master4Fancy uses platinum silicone for all their toys, which is basically the holy grail of toy materials. We’re not talking cheapo food-grade silicone or mystery mixes here. This stuff is the real deal, non-toxic, phthalate-free, hypoallergenic, and gentle on sensitive bits. It's also non-porous, which makes it way easier to clean and much safer in the long run. No risk of bacteria hiding out where it shouldn't. Master4Fancy also only uses cosmetic-grade pigments.
Because Master4Fancy toys are made entirely from silicone, it’s completely waterproof. That means you’ve got options. Whether you’re looking for a quiet night in bed or a chaotic underwater encounter in the tub, this toy is game. Platinum silicone is also temperature-play friendly, holding up under heat and cold with a range from -4°C to 200°C. Boiling it? Totally safe. Dishwasher? Go for it. Just keep it off the bottom... of the pot darlings not you.
Durability-wise, platinum silicone holds up like a champ. Master4Fancy's toys don’t break down, don’t get sticky over time, and don’t discolor the way lower-grade toys sometimes do. You can throw a lot at this thing and it'll still look fresh from the mold. That kind of longevity means you're not just buying a toy, you're adopting a long-term play partner. And if you’re like me and love having a growing collection, it’s nice knowing your older pieces won’t go weird on you in storage.
Cleaning is as easy as it gets. A bit of antibacterial soap and warm water with a soft toothbrush will do the trick for everyday maintenance. If you want to be extra, a quick boil for two to three minutes will fully disinfect it. Just remember to pat your toy dry and stick to water-based lubricants because silicone on silicone is a big no-no.
Master4Fancy offers Mermaid in four firmness options: Super Soft (Shore 00A), Soft (Shore 2A), Medium (Shore 5A), and, by special request, an even firmer Shore 8A silicone.
For this review, Master4Fancy wanted me to try this model in Medium firmness. Typically, I like to see what the average user experience is going to be, however, given that Seth was ordered in Soft, I wasn't going to pass up an opportunity to bring my darlings some hands-on experience with another firmness option.
The Medium is very squishy while still having a fair amount of firmness. It bends in half with minimal effort, while the finer details remain flexible with a gentle amount of rigidity. That should come in handy with all those spikes and spines.
color options
Master4Fancy offers Mermaid in six signature color options, along with a custom surprise option for those who want something completely unique.
The standard choices are Natural, Fantasy, Rosy Reverie, Azure Gild, Flora's Kiss, and Muddy Puppy.
Fantasy features a swirl of blue and pale purple, Rosy Reverie combines a white base with pink highlights, Azure Gild uses a white and gold marble pattern, Flora's Kiss blends fluorescent yellow-green with peach tones, and Muddy Puppy mixes grey and white into a marbled finish.
For those looking for something more personal, Master4Fancy also offers a surprise custom option. Customers can provide color preferences, pattern ideas, and reference images, allowing the team to create a one-of-a-kind pour based on those suggestions.
For this review, I naturally chose the Natural colorization. The swirl of pinks and blues gives it a stunning aesthetic that compliments the mythical creature this toy is modeled after.
Suction Cup
Master4Fancy offers Mermaid with a two and a half inch diameter suction cup. Of course, for me that means it is time for some highly questionable experimentation.
My usual method for testing suction cups is simple: mount the toy to a Solo Saddle, set the whole thing on top of a ten-pound box, and then start shaking it like I’m trying to wake it up from a nap.
The seal gave up on the first shake every time. Before anyone panics, remember what is actually happening here. That setup means the suction cup is trying to hold ten pounds of dead weight while being aggressively rattled around. That is not normal use. That is me being a menace.
Most suction cups would surrender immediately under that kind of treatment. During the vertical lift, the result was very different. The seal held the full weight without peeling or slowly losing grip. No creeping edges, no sliding, just a solid hold.
Because I enjoy repeating bad ideas in the name of consistency, I ran the test a few more times. Same setup. Same shaking. Same outcome. Violent shaking breaks the seal. Straight lift does not.
So no, it will not survive being whipped around like a possessed object.
But on a clean, smooth surface during actual use, it stays planted and behaves exactly the way a suction cup should.
Testing and Performance
Product Design: 4.5/5
The Master4Fancy Mermaid is definitely an interesting design. The taper, spikes and spines, and muscle detailing all give it an aesthetic that I would dare call more tongue-like than phallic.
The very thin tip and gradual taper make Mermaid very approachable, while giving it a unique shape you just don't find with standard cylindrical structures. There is no uniformity in the four sides of this model. Everywhere you look, there are new textures or shapes to explore. Rather than being cylindrical, this model features a more oval structure, with the top half being flatter while the base is more rounded. The sides flare out into lips, giving you a sensory experience no matter how you approach Mermaid.
The S-curve of the shaft, combined with the Medium silicone, makes Mermaid extremely beginner-friendly. Rather than trying to force its way through your body's natural curves, the toy wants to work with them. The downside is that the small amount of silicone can sometimes be a little too cooperative. When the tip encounters resistance, particularly during anal use, it tends to bend rather than push forward, meaning guided entry is required.
That same softness creates an unexpected benefit, though. With a little extra lubricant, the shaft has a tendency to slither and slide across the body, creating a unique external sensation, giving into that tongue aesthetic I mentioned earlier and adding another layer to the experience. It is one of those cases where a characteristic that can be frustrating in one situation becomes a strength in another.
Easy to Use: 5/5
With a little guidance and testing, the tip enters the body easily. The taper makes the stretch almost unnoticeable. I typically like to try a toy without preparing the body first to see just how beginner-friendly the product is before trying it again after a warm-up. With Mermaid, no warm-up was required, but I'd still advise doing a proper routine that suits your body and your needs.
Once past the tip, the gradual taper and flexible silicone make the rest of the insertion relatively straightforward. The S-curve also works with the body's natural curves rather than fighting against them, which makes positioning less of a chore.
The main thing to keep in mind is that Mermaid's flexibility means the tip needs some guidance when it encounters resistance. Rather than pushing through on its own, it will happily bend and go wherever the pressure sends it. With a little hands-on direction, though, getting Mermaid where you want it is surprisingly easy.
Sensory Quality: 4.5/5
The spikes on the head are very present during entry, rippling as they push past the ring of muscle. The curve is also an attention grabber, as the silicone gets firmer the farther down the shaft you go. What starts out as a very bendy, forgiving tip turns into a mass of muscle claiming its space.
The spikes near the base are particularly noticeable as they ripple the entrance with more rigidity than the ones on the tip. This creates a noticeable change in sensation as more of the shaft moves through, rather than giving you the same feeling from beginning to end.
The combination of the curve, changing firmness, and various textures gives Mermaid plenty to feel. The softer tip is forgiving, while the thicker sections and larger spikes provide more presence. Add in the way the shaft can slither across the body with enough lubricant and Mermaid manages to offer more sensory variety than its relatively simple shape suggests.
Easy to Clean: 4/5
Since Mermaid is made from platinum-cured silicone, cleaning is mostly straightforward. Warm water and a mild soap take care of the majority of the work.
The biggest cleaning challenge comes from the elaborate base. The creases between the spikes create several small areas that seem determined to hold onto any leftover lubricant.
Thankfully, a soft-bristle toothbrush reserved for toy cleaning makes quick work of those areas without risking damage to the silicone. After a rinse and thorough drying, Mermaid is ready to return to storage or prepare for its next adventure.

Final Thoughts
Master4Fancy's Mermaid turned out to be a surprisingly fun toy to spend some time with. The tongue-like design, S-curve, spikes, and changing firmness give it a lot more going on than you might expect from something that looks relatively simple at first glance. The Medium silicone also hits a nice balance between being soft enough to work with the body's natural curves while still giving the larger details enough presence to be felt.
The biggest thing to keep in mind is the flexibility. That makes Mermaid very approachable, but it also means the tip can get a little too cooperative when it meets resistance. A little guidance solves that problem, and once you get past the tip, the shape and taper make the rest fairly straightforward.
I also appreciated how much the design changes depending on how you interact with it. The thinner tip is forgiving, the larger details become more noticeable farther down the shaft, and the softer silicone allows for some fun external play as well. Add in the suction cup base and you've got a design that manages to be versatile without trying to cram every possible feature into one toy.
Overall, Mermaid is a unique addition to the Master4Fancy lineup. If you're looking for something with a more creature-inspired design and a little more personality than your standard cylindrical toy, Mermaid certainly brings something different to the table.
That all being said, the Master4Fancy Mermaid scored 18/20, giving it a rating of 9/10. And I highly recommend this product for beginners and experienced users alike.
